All the Davmar bedspreads feature exquisite hand embroidery, and in some of them fine mirror work - literally reflecting the long and highly skilled traditions of the Rajasthan textile industry.
Individual mirrors are all hand stitched skilfully and intricately into the embroidery so embellishing the cotton bedspreads as they catch and reflect the light.
The Davmar website has a range of 3 cotton mirrored bedspreads on our website - the mirrored Kharak, the mirrored Pakka and the mirrored Gujarati, our most highly embroidered design. The Kharak and Pakka are available in 6 wonderful colours which would complement most colour schemes, whilst the Gujarati bedspread comes either in a beautiful soft white or a stunning multi coloured design embracing a fusion of colours so resonant of the spicy colours found in an Indian market.
Our pure white cotton organdie bedspread hand appliquéd over fine organdie is both soft and delicate. The stitches are so small - they are almost invisible and the patterns created are simple yet stunning. The other Davmar hand appliquéd bedspreads are in the traditional Indian Tree of Life design - a timeless classic made in soft stone tumbled cotton and available in cream, blue, orange and pale maroon.
The Chakli silk and brocade bedspread is made from 99 square patches of the finest silk and brocade and comes with 2 complementary silk pillow covers and 2 silk cushion covers, both with a gold brocade border. These 2 bedspread designs are available in combinations of white/gold and a multi coloured version in shades of fire and sunset!
Our top of the range bedspread design is called the Jardoji is quite simply breathtaking! These bedspreads are made of silk and have a centre panel of mesh, hand stitched with metallic threads, seed pearls and copper wire; this panel is so intricate that it takes 2 women 5 months to complete. The Jardoji bedspread comes with 2 silk pillow cases and 2 silk cushion covers - all bordered in gold brocade. The Jardoji bedspreads are in 3 stunning colours of white/gold, red/gold and brown/gold.
